GOLF RESORT APARTMENTS, PLAYA DE LAS AMERICAS, TENERIFE

This is my review of the apartment complex. This isn't a review of the resort - incidentally, I think the resort was OK, but very commercial and too geared up to "Brits abroad" syndrome. I was there with my two sons aged 16 and 12.

The complex is located approximately 25-30 minute coach trip from the south airport and is on a very quiet road with plenty of parking spaces for your hire car. It's also a 10-15 minute stroll to Las Americas where there are many supermarkets to stock up the kitchen.

Allocation of the apartment on arrival was swift. The reception staff were friendly and spoke excellent English. The apartments are well-equipped and, most importantly, spotlessly clean. We were there for a week and only saw two cockroaches, both on the patio and both dying - they must liberally dust for bugs every day.

The Kitchen.

Well equipped with a fridge-freezer, kettle, toaster, oven and twin hot plate with extractor fan. It would have been handy to have had a microwave!

There's also a small breakfast bar. The clutter is ours!

There are no TV channels worth watching unless you understand Spanish.

The only English language channels were BBC World, CNN and Eurosport, but hey, who's there to watch telly?

Also on the ground floor was a shower room with toilet. I don't have any photos of upstairs, but there were two bedrooms (both with balcony) and a bathroom/toilet. All excellently fitted out.

The view from the front balcony is not very picturesque, but the rear balcony overlooks the pool.  

I was a bit disappointed when, at 7:30 in the mornings, I was disturbed by the huge mowers on the golf course, followed by earth shifting equipment at 8am on the nearby construction site. These are the only real criticisms I have.

If you get the chance to stay here, then do. I overheard someone saying that they'd been to all of the Canaries and stayed in many different accommodations, but the Golf Resort was head and shoulders above the rest. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.
