I'm a 48 year-old English guy and I've been developing MS Access database applications for my employer since the early 90s. My remit is to produce secure MS Access database applications for the multi-user environment which are reliable and stable.
I have an excellent track record in achieving this and have designed many applications including:
My "Virtual Mail System" application won an in-house award at Bronze level. This database application also earned me £2,500 in reward scheme points for a demonstrated saving of £50,000 per year, spread across four projects. It is a mail handling database which allows projects to record and track mail items and actions arising to completion. It also uses automatically generated e-mail to keep project members up to speed on mail movement and content.
I have also designed stock control and customer base databases for small retailers in my locale. My most recent freelance project was a management tool for an employment agency in London.
I am looking to increase the amount of freelance work I take on, so if you have a requirement for a quality database application, please contact me to discuss your requirements. I may also be able to help if you have started to design a database as a novice but feel unable to complete it.
My speciality is multi-user client-server applications protected by user-level security. MS Access security is not for the faint-hearted or the beginner. It takes many hours of dedicated research and a certain amount of trial and error to master. If you're struggling with MS Access security (and we all do to begin with!), see my step-by-step example.
There is no substitute, however, for reading, digesting, understanding and then re-reading the MS KB article on user level security - please be sure to do this first, and even then, work on a copy of your files (it's so easy to lock yourself out!).
